  • ACADEMY SHUTTLE

There is an academy shuttle bus from Landvetter airport to Hotell Fars Hatt for Thursday evening and Friday morning arrivals for a shared cost.  We invite you to favor this means of transport as it is organized for the academy delegate and it frees your mind. TAXI

A taxi costs approx. 750 SEK from the airport to the hotel.

Make sure to get a price quote from the driver before departure, most offer a fixed price.

    PUBLIC TRANSPORT
TO ARRANGE YOUR OWN TRANSFER, YOU CAN USE:
    1. Flygbussarna for travel from the airport to Gothenburg.
    2. Västtrafik for the bus from Gothenburg to the hotel in Kungälv (Hotel name: Hotell Fars Hatt).

The bus from the airport to Gothenburg takes about 30 minutes, and the bus from Gothenburg to Kungälv takes about 25 minutes.  Both buses depart every 10-15 minutes.

Public transport (Flygbuss + local bus) costs approx. 140 SEK per person (one-way).

If you are arriving at Gothenburg Airport, we recommend you take the airport bus (Flygbuss) towards Gothenburg.  Travel all the way to Nils Ericsson Terminalen (name of the main bus station in Göteborg Central station).

The bus to Hotell Fars Hatt, Kungälv is called the Grön Express (a service run by Västtrafik bus company).  You will find it as you step out from the Flygbuss and go inside the terminal building, then turn right, go out and once more turn right.  Now you will see Nordstan, a large shopping mall in front of you.  Grön Express towards Kungälv leaves from the nearest bus stop called Nordstan.  The bus stop nearest the hotel is called Fars Hatt.

NOTE: Ask the Grön Express bus driver if the bus goes to Fars Hatt, since not all services go via Kungälv city.  If you are not lucky the first time you ask, wait a couple of minutes for the next Grön Express.

You will need one ticket for the airport bus and another for Grön Express.  Tickets for the airport bus can be bought in advance through their website or on the bus with a credit/debit card.  Local bus tickets can be bought through the app or on the bus with a credit/debit card.

If you are planning to arrive early and stay a few extra days in Gothenburg and leave from the city center to Kungälv, we still recommend that you take Grön Express.  Local transport is operated by Västtrafik and there are different types of tickets ranging from single tickets to two day tickets.  Single tickets can be bought on the trams and buses with a credit/debit card or through the app.

  • We purposely do not give you a detailed schedule otherwise they are going to be no surprises. Registration is on Friday August 5th between 9:00 and 12:00.  The Academy officially starts on Friday, August 5th at 1:00pm and you are required to be registered and present by that time.

The days during the Academy are fully booked and you WILL NOT have time to leave the Academy. All activities are mandatory, sightseeing and shopping need to be conducted before or after the Academy. We advise to let family and friends know that it would be best to be in touch once the Academy has finished.

When planning for your trip, please bear in mind that the Registration Office is open on Friday, August 5th from 9.00 – 12.00, so in other words the entire morning.  Make sure that you are at the Academy hotel prior to this time!  We conclude European Academy with an official Graduation Ceremony on the Monday evening, which you definitely do not want to miss out on (nor the party afterwards!)  So we advise not to schedule your departure before Tuesday morning.

  • JCI European Academy takes no responsibility for the participants’ insurance (health or travel etc.).  Please make sure that your insurance is valid in Sweden and that it covers outdoor activities. Please also bring your European Health Insurance Card in case of an accident.  Don’t worry… we didn’t schedule those, but it’s good to be prepared!

  • Citizens from some countries require a visa to enter Sweden.  The visa application should be made at the Swedish Embassy in your country before departure.  In case you require a visa, please contact us so we can send you an official invitation.

Choose your country, check Visiting Sweden and the list of foreign citizens who require Visa for entry into Sweden and Tourist Visa information.
